Programs Manager/Clinical Supervisor (Permanent/Full-time)

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Programs Manager/Clinical Supervisor will provide day-to-day oversight of agency programs in accordance with the agency’s mission, policies & procedures, service standards and funding commitments. The Programs Manager/Clinical Supervisor is responsible for program development, implementation and evaluation, staff supervision and the coordination of a seamless client service delivery system focused on ensuring quality client care in accordance with agency mission and vision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervisory:

  • Leads and supports program staff in meeting agency mission and program deliverables through regular clinical supervision, leading team meetings, supervisor meetings, case consultation and supporting staff professional development
  • Supports team building, planning and training
  • Leads program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Supports cross program collaboration among staff ensuring seamless access for clients to programs and services within agency service delivery system
  • Fosters and nurtures staff professional development, recommends self-directed and agency directed training
  • Fosters relationship-building amongst staff working in various programs, and utilizes a strength-based perspective, supports problem solving and staff commitment to common service delivery model
  • Ensures and supports the resolution of client concerns/complaints/feedback following agency policies and procedures and works with Senior management and Executive Director on integrating client feedback into service and staff development
  • Ensures performance standards through training, coaching/mentoring and conducting performance reviews
  • Supports the continual development of program evaluation measures and integrates evaluation results in program and service development
  • Ensures that program staff meet service targets and objectives
  • Ensures data management system is aligned with program needs and ensures accurate and timely collection of data by staff

Funding and Community Collaboration:

  • Builds relationship with funders and liaises and reports to funders as required
  • Assists in the writing of quarterly and annual funding reports
  • Identifies and supports the writing of new funding proposals that contribute to agency mission
  • Works collaboratively with inter-agency networks in liaising, networking and contributing to systems development in response to client needs
  • Seeks out and supports partnership development with other organizations in support of agency and program goals

Administration:

  • Consulted as a senior staff member regarding agency-wide reviews, plans and program implementation in collaboration with Executive Director
  • Recommends program development to the Executive Director
  • Assists in the development and implementation of agency programs and public education

  • Develops and maintains accurate and comprehensive systems in areas of case management, statistical recording and reporting as well as program evaluation
  • Prepares reports, correspondence, and documents for internal and external use as required
  • Ensures that staff team members are meeting service targets
  • Complies with Abrigo policies and procedures
  • Authorizes vacation and personal leaves for staff under supervision
  • Responsible for administering budgeted expenses related to staff training and miscellaneous program costs as authorized by the Executive Director
  • In collaboration with the E.D., acts as a media spokesperson for agency from time to time
  • Actively participates in all Staff, Inter-team, and Team meetings
  • Brings to the attention of the Executive Director any issues or concerns which may affect the overall operation and credibility of the agency
  • Undertakes special assignments as requested by the Executive Director

Other:

  • Identifies own learning needs and takes action to attain developmental goals
  • Participates with Executive Director in goal setting and evaluation of her/his own performance
  • Provides leadership to and participates in agency special events/projects as assigned
  • Participates in agency committee work as deemed appropriate
  • Attends to all duties in a creative and innovative manner     
  • Participates in agency programs, meetings and staff development as required
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by Executive Director

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum BSW, preferably MSW in Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • Registered with OCSW&SSW or CRPO
  • Five (5) plus years working directly with the Violence Against Women sector, Youth and Family Counselling services within the non-profit sector
  • Knowledge and experience working from a trauma informed, anti-oppression framework
  • Experience in numerous therapeutic approaches with women, children and families (trauma informed practice, TF-CBT, Narrative, DBT, IFS, Expressive Arts, Solution Focused)
  • Knowledge of challenges and service needs of agency clients including immigrants, marginalized women, individuals and families
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership in relationship-building skills, strengths-based and solution oriented
  • Proven effective program management skills and execution
  • Proven ability to lead a small team of diverse individuals
  • Proficiency in computer software and data management applications
  • Ability to speak Portuguese is an asset
